Challenge: reliable transfer of fine powdered materials in demanding production
Technistone, a leading Czech manufacturer of engineered quartz surfaces, produces durable and visually appealing materials for kitchen countertops, bathroom interiors, and flooring.
In its production process, Technistone faced a critical challenge: transferring extremely fine microsilica powder (grain size approx. 0.045 mm) from storage silos to mixers several metres above ground level.
Traditional screw and pneumatic conveying systems caused excessive wear, dust formation, and maintenance downtime — leading to higher operating costs and reduced process reliability.
Solution: fluidisation-based powder transfer and dosing system
In 2016, Technistone partnered with Tamtron to design a modern, fluidisation-based system for the precise transfer and dosing of fine powder materials.
The pilot project, launched in summer 2017, included two fluidisation hoses and a dosing unit. After successful results, the system was expanded in spring 2018 with four additional transfer lines.
